Park Slope Parents and The Motherhood Center: Solo Birthing Meetup @ 8:00pm

The start of the COVID-19 outbreak was an unprecedented time to give birth in New York City. Many birthing parents experienced labor, delivery, and recovery in the hospital alone -- without a spouse, partner, family member, or support person due to the Covid-related policies that had been temporarily instituted in several hospitals. Although the state guidelines were in effect for only five days (March 23rd - March 28th), the reversal of the ban on birth partners could not rewrite the stories of parents who delivered alone during that period of time. For these parents, the birth they expected, pictured, and hoped for was likely not the one they experienced.

Park Slope Parents invites you to join The Motherhood Center and their Community & Partnerships Lead and psychotherapist, Elizabeth Baron LMHC who herself experienced labor, delivery, and recovery in the hospital alone. Elizabeth will facilitate this safe, supportive and healing group. Park Slope Parents and The Motherhood Center all share the mission to make space for you to share, cry (if you want to), connect, and hopefully laugh a little bit too.

This event is by invitation only. Please reach out to hello@parkslopeparents.com to receive further information.
