PSP Mental Health Check-In: For Parents with Aging Parents @ 7:00pm

PSP invites you to join Dr. Mark Nathanson, Director of the Fellowship Program in Geriatric Psychiatry at Columbia University, and Minda Cutcher from Love & Order for a PSP Mental Health Check-In for Parents with Aging Parents.

What:    PSP Mental Health Check-In: For Parents with Aging Parents
When:   Tuesday, May 26th
Time:     7:00pm - 8:00pm
Register in advance for this meeting by clicking REGISTER HERE. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

Dr. Nathanson and Minda Cutcher will address and discuss two main issues:

The emotional and psychic challenges for adult children and their aging parents who are both near and far during COVID-19.

Dr Nathanson will give us an overview of what this is like in non-pandemic times and how our current situation has exacerbated what would already be happening naturally.
Staying connected when you're far apart. Physical distancing is not social isolation!

Just like young children, seniors don't all love communicating through modern technology. Dr. Nathanson will help us understand how our parents - including those with dementia (or other issues like memory or hearing loss) might be feeling about modern communication. Minda Cutcher can help us with practical tools and ideas for communication and staying in touch.

We will leave plenty of time for Q&A with these experts. Please answer the required questions during the registration process as this will give both speakers a better sense of what the most pressing needs are.

When:
Tuesday, May 26, 2020, 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM
