REMOTE: PSP Intro to Parenting the Positive Discipline Way: VIA ZOOM MEETUP

THIS WORKSHOP WILL BE PRESENTED VIA ZOOM MEETINGS. PLEASE EMAIL EVENTS@PARKSLOPEPARENTS.COM IF YOU SIGNED UP AND DID NOT RECEIVE THE ZOOM MEETING URL.

Please join PSP and Mary-Lynn Fiske for the workshop Intro to Parenting the Positive Discipline Way  on Tuesday, March 17th from 7:00pm - 9:00pm.

  • Do too many of your exchanges with your kids turn into power struggles?
  • Do you argue about homework, bedtime and screen time?
  • Do chores not get done without micromanagement, threats or removal of privileges?
  • Where is the cooperation that would make family life pleasant?

You are not the only one who faces challenges with your kids. Good news: there are parenting skills that can bring some harmony to these relationships.

You will learn some Positive Discipline basics such as:

  • Why children don't listen and what you can do.
  • Why children misbehave and what you can do.
  • How to foster connection.

Positive Discipline (PD) classes provide parents with non-punitive ways to encourage and empower their children and themselves. Parents learn to be kind and firm at the same time; to foster their children’s learning of life skills to help them be successful in their careers, their community and their relationships.

This workshop is best for parents of children from three to ten years old. The cost is $30.00. There are no refunds for PSP Events.

Mary-Lynn Fiske: https://pd-parents.com

Many years ago, my self-possessed, determined child began asserting her will in a way that left me really uncertain how to go forward. Then I happened upon a Positive Discipline book while rummaging for something to read at my sister-in-law’s house. I remember thinking, Whoa, I’ve just found the parenting answers and approach I’ve been looking for! The tools and lessons made so much sense – and were so effective. Later, when I began volunteering in schools, I saw how PD can improve the learning atmosphere in the classroom. I took Positive Discipline training and was certified as a PD parent educator and a PD classroom educator. I’ve been talking about and teaching Positive Discipline to parents of children of all ages since 2001. I have also been a childbirth educator for 20+ years and a doula for 10.
