MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS


In order to be eligible for membership, prospective members must meet two requirements:


  1. Prospective members must currently reside in Brooklyn OR be in the midst of a move to Brooklyn, with a confirmed residential address and move-in date.
  2. Prospective members must either be current parents or expectant parents. An expectant parent is someone who is expecting a child through pregnancy, surrogacy, or is in the midst of an adoption.

Park Slope Parents (PSP) is a community of 8,000+ families in Brooklyn, NY. Since 2002, PSP members have shared advice on everything from childcare and camps to hairdressers and healthcare. We've coped with teething, terrible twos, the tween years, and more. We have over 100 specialty groups, including cooking, gardening, allergy, LGBTQ, crafting, single/divorced/separated, middle school, high school, and even a new college discussion group!

Park Slope Parents recognizes that families take many forms, including two-parent families, single-parent families, blended families, same-sex families, foster families, multi-racial families, adoptive families, and more. We have a "family" membership based on the multitude of different compositions of both caregiver(s) and child(ren). 

😉NOTE: We have a ton of offerings on PSP, from events to email groups to chats.  At times this can be overwhelming to folks-- know that we can help you adjust your settings to make the experience just to your liking. 😊

Our Membership Benefits:

Advice/Community Group. The PSP Advice/Community group has all things parenting, community and urban living. Stay connected to the whole neighborhood through the PSP Advice/Community Group!

Classifieds Group. The PSP Classifieds group is our buy/sell/trade group that includes nanny posts, real estate posts, and teens for hire.

Our Pregnancy and Baby Groups. Get help from other new parents going through what you're experiencing. We've been helping new parents embark on the journey of parenthood for more than a decade. You'll join our email group, the Signal Chats, and attend events tailored to your baby's journey. 

Our Specialty Groups for online and in-person gatherings with people who share your interests. Groups include Stay-at-Home Parents, Cooking, Gardening, Tweens, SDS (Separated/Divorced/Single) Parents, LGBTQ, bilingual groups and more.

Park Slope Parents Events. PSP holds over 500 events a year. View our calendar here. Highlights include: 
--- SWAPS:  The PSP Clothing Swap with over 900 attendees bring their wonderful hand-me-downs, Book Swaps, Working Moms Clothing Swaps, and Toy Swap (new in 2026!)
--- WEBINARS: Attend free members-only webinars from the comfort of your own home to learn about babies, toddlers, aging parents, wills and estate planning, divorce, and so much more!
--- SPECIALTY GROUP MEETUPS:  Hang out with folks who share your life characteristics such as Single Parents by Choice, LGBQ+ , WOMBATS (wonderful older moms of babies and toddlers), Parents of Tweens and Teens, heritage and language groups and so much more.
--- BEYOND A PARENT MEETUPS: Hang out with other people who love what you love (when it's not just kids): book groups, crafting and knitting meetups, gardening, hiking/camping, game nights, and renovations group. 

Career Help. Not only do we have a General Career Networking Group with over 2,000 work-minded people, we also have more than 20 Career Subgroups such as law, fashion, small business, fine arts, tech, and many more.

PSP has become instrumental to the Brooklyn community and has been featured in The New York Times, NPR, New York Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, and other media.


Eligibility to join is limited to parents and expectant parents who reside in Park Slope and surrounding brownstone neighborhoods, including (but not limited to) BoCoCa, Prospect Heights, Crown Heights, Kensington, Windsor Terrace, Greenwood Heights, Sunset Park, Downtown Brooklyn, Ditmas Park, PLG, Ft. Greene, and Bed-Stuy!
