Basics
- One ticket per family so we can let as many families join as possible!
- Please do NOT bring children to this clothing swap UNLESS they are infants in carriers. Even then, people tell us that it's better to be free of extra distractions.
- Strollers and carts are not allowed in the swap.
When: September 13th, 2025
Where: All Saints Church, 463A 7th Street, entrance on 7th Street @ 7th Ave
Timing: Each family signs up for ONE time slot and will have 50 minutes to find awesome things!
Cost: $12 per family
The clothing swap entrance fee pays for insurance, event space, volunteer thank yous and nosh, and more! Thanks for supporting this great event!
TIMES
NOTE: DO NOT sign up for a time that you cannot commit to. Switching time slots is frowned upon (extra work), not guaranteed, and may require an additional fee.
TIME SIZES AVAILABLE

10:00am - 10:50am ALL AGES ... Last entry at 10:30am

------
2:00pm - 2:50pm 0 - 12 MONTHS, Baby & Maternity Items Only Last entry at 2:30pm
Do not sign up for this time slot if you need things over 12 months old.
FROM 9am - 2pm, ALL SIZES (0-10+ years old) will be available!
We bag our pre-swap donations and put them out all day long. Signing up for the first slot does not get you any "extra" clothes. If you come later in the day, you'll still have access to great stuff, and new items arrive every time slot!
The 2pm spot is only for 0-12 month clothes, maternity, and baby gear. (we move the older stuff out so there's nothing over 12 months available.)
Once you register, add your timeslot to your calendar.
If you're not registered, you will not be allowed in. NO walk-ins allowed. Sorry, NO exceptions.
Masks optional during all time slots.
THERE IS GREAT INFORMATION BELOW-- PLEASE READ IT SO WE HAVE AN AMAZING SWAP (and before you email us at hello@parkslopeparents.com).

Please note: Have your EVENT REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION ready. You may also be required to show ID. Pro tip: TAKE A SCREENSHOT or STAR the email as soon as you receive it.
NOTE: If you've gotten tons of great stuff for your 0-12 month old at past swaps, excellent! Come with lower expectations for older sizes --If you bring a big bag of 2T clothes it's unlikely you'll take home the same amount of 3T clothes-- older kids wear their clothes longer and toddlers beat up their clothes more. Pay it forward and be generous with others.
MAKING THE SWAP GREAT!
Bring your clothes, labeled by size, in a bag you can hand off to a volunteer (not your favorite tote bag you need back). It makes things flow much more smoothly to take things from you in the line. There will be extra bags inside for you.
WHAT TO BRING
Items in super good shape (if you wouldn’t give it to someone finicky, don’t bring it to the swap; it lessens the overall experience to root through stains)
-- Kid clothing for ages newborn - pre-teen years
-- Baby carriers, sleep sacks, blankets, crib sheets
-- Maternity items (especially work clothes)
-- Strollers
-- Bottles
-- Post-natal toiletries (ice packs, sprays, sitz baths, and the like)
WHAT WE DO NOT ALLOW
PLEASE put these items on the classifieds or check the PSP website for donation centers that take these items.
---- Body pillows
---- Cribs and co-sleepers
---- Bassinets
---- Hospital gift bags
---- Supplements (prenatal or postnatal)
---- Books (including maternity, parenting, or kids)
---- Toys
---- Breast pumps (most of these go into the trash because people don't take them)
---- Baby bathtubs
---- Baby bouncers
---- Baby swings
---- Baby gates
PRE-SORT YOUR DONATIONS! VERY IMPORTANT (or you'll need to sort them yourself when you get there)
Please PRE-SORT and LABEL clothes by size to make it easy for us to put things out. Bring your clothes, labeled by size, in a bag you can hand off to a volunteer (not your favorite tote bag you need back.). It makes things flow much more smoothly to take things from you in the line. There will be extra bags inside for you. Sorting your donations will help us get you into the swap as quickly as possible!
--- Preemie clothes (we will donate extra items to the Methodist NICU)
--- 0 - 6 months
--- 6 - 12 months
--- 12 - 18 months
--- 18 - 24 months

Want to be even more awesome?
-Rubber band shoes together
-Label unusual items so folks know what it is
-Rubber band PJs
-Put things in ziploc bags if there are multiple parts
-Write why an item was good if it helps someone realize they might want it ??.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: How does the swap work? What happens when I arrive?
A: Find the sign in table located at the side entrance on 7th street. Have your ID and confirmation ready in case we need to double check. Once checked in, you'll get a wristband, hand off your items and get back in line until your time slot begins. A volunteer will come out and announce when it's time to enter and then you will seek out the tables with sizes you need (there will be a map). If your items are NOT sorted, you may be required to sort those yourself at a special table once your time slot opens.
---New items arrive throughout the day, and we are holding larger sized items to spread out throughout the day. Unlike past swaps, coming early doesn't give you a big advantage.
---A note about sharing the wealth. If you're looking for older items, come in with the "less is more" mindset since the amount of stuff you have decreases by age. If you bring 20 2T items it's unlikely you'll be able to find the equivalent number of 3T. That said, we work hard to collect items from parents with older kids, so we've been lucky to have lots more to choose for those age ranges.
---A note about stocking up for the future. One of the great things about the swap is that clothes circulate over and over. To that end, please only take things relevant to the next year. If you have a 6 month old, leave 3T and older things for the folks who have kids who are 18 months - 2T. That way things aren't just sitting in storage when they can be used by families in the community.
---Please do not “shop” for other people. This includes items for non-members or “clients.” The swap is to benefit PSP members who have also brought things to swap. If there is a worthy not-for-profit organization who would benefit from extras, email susan@parkslopeparents.com
---Please don't hover around a table for older kids. Things are coming out all the time, but it's important that if you've gotten a few things to step back and give someone else a chance.
---You'll have 50 minutes (plenty of time!) to find great stuff. At the 40 minute mark we will start giving you a heads up to wrap things up, and at the 50 minute mark you'll exit and we'll prepare for the new crop of folks! Please don't linger as we've got things to do before we bring in the next bunch of folks!
Q: What do I bring?
----If you wouldn’t give it to someone's finicky in-law, don’t bring it to the swap.
----Bring baby clothing, kid clothing, and maternity clothing!
----Bring smaller baby gear-- but no cribs or body pillows! Put those on the Classifieds!
----All seasons allowed! No worries if you are swapping winter clothes and looking for summer—we get clothing from all seasons!
Q: I'm an expectant or brand new parent and don't have stuff (or very much stuff) to swap! Can I still come?
Of course you won't have much stuff-- we have the most 0-12 month stuff, so worry not! Bring any maternity items you don't love, extra gear you might not need (some folks have 2 of the same baby carriers), or hand-me-downs you know you won't be using. You'll hopefully be paying it forward in the future. Remember when you have 2 year olds (a well-sought after size) and pay it forward by bringing that to the swaps in the future!
Q: Can I drop off beforehand?
A: YES! You can drop off early at a number of locations (see list below), donate the day before or day of the swap, or we can come pick up things that are size 18+ months. Early drop-off at All Saints Church goes from 5:00pm - 7:00pm on Friday afternoon, and starts at 8:00am on Saturday morning. You do not need to come to the swap to drop-off.
Q: Can I just donate without attending the swap?
A: Yes! You can drop off early at a number of locations (see list below), donate the day before or day of the swap, or we can come pick up things that are size 2+. Early drop-off goes from 5:00 - 7:00pm on Friday afternoon, and starts at 8:00am on Saturday morning.
Q: I don’t have childcare. Can I bring my child to the swap?
A: Only kids in carriers are allowed in the swap. Ask to swap babysitting favors with someone you know. Also ask your baby group, the Single Parents by Choice group, or Single/Divorced/Separated group for ideas about swapping kid-care so you can make it.
Q: How do I prove who I am and that I'm a PSP Member?
A: You may need to show proof of who you are (a valid picture ID) and your event registration confirmation, so be sure to take a screenshot or star the email when you receive it. If you have any trouble receiving your confirmation email, email events@parkslopeparents.com.
Q: Can both my spouse/partner/mother/sister/brother/dog and I get in the door?
A: One adult per family. Prospect Park is 2 blocks away. You can meet folks there after the swap. We just don't have space for more than one per family.
Q: Ends up I can't use my swap spot. Can I give it to a friend?
A: No-- we typically have a list of people who want to swap spots and we give priority to folks on the waitlist. We ask that folks not resell or give away their swap spots and instead email events@parkslopeparents.com to cancel your spot. You'll be given credit for other events or your membership renewal.
Q. I can't make the swap. Can I HOST A MINI-SWAP for 0-12 month items after the event?
This is a NEW EXPECTANT AND NEW BABY GROUP IDEA: Coordinate with other baby group members and pick up some bags of 0-6 and 6-12 month clothes, extra bottles, bibs, socks, swaddles, and blankets at the end of the swap for folks who can't make it. It makes for a great reason for a meet-up (lay out the clothes on blankets at the park or in someone's community room) with snacks. NOTE: Anything extra you'll need to give away for free on the Classifieds or we can help you arrange for pickup from our friends at Little Essentials. Details, and how to sign up for the Mini-Swap HERE.
Q: My kid(s) grew out of the stuff I got at the swap? I don't have a place to store it. What do I do with it?
A: If you got it at the swap, give it back to the swap next round. OR pay it forward by posting it for free on the PSP Classifieds. By all means do not sell things you got at the swap. Super BAD karma and not allowed! We'd rather keep it in the community and have it come back at the next swap.
Q: What happens to the Extras?
A: Anything not swapped will be donated. In the past, we've donated to Little Essentials, the Family Justice Center, Babyphoria Brooklyn, Next Steps Community Church, the NICU at NYP-Brooklyn Methodist, St. Mary's and other organizations. If you know of an organization that might like to have the extras, let us know! NOTE: Everything has to be out of the space by Saturday late afternoon. We can save bags until 3pm on Saturday for folks (no longer).
A2: Any Fresh Direct bags are donated to the Camp Friendship Food Bank. Other extra bags are donated to Big Reuse-- they seeem to love them.
