About this event

HoldThePhones

Hold The Phone! & Some Beers is a traveling education series that partners with schools and parent communities to strengthen a shared line of defense for children’s mental health. Our programs reframe the current narrative around smartphones and social media—from inevitable
to intentional—by offering practical, sustainable alternatives grounded in research and real-world experience.

Light bites provided. Cash bar. This is a kids-free event.

Try out alternative dumbphones at our Alternative Device Table!

Speakers include:
Dr. Richard Freed, psychologist & author of "Better Than Real Life."

Anne Renga Weaver, LCSW, therapist, anxiety specialist, college social worker, and local parent of three who works at the intersection of mental health, parenting, and collective care.

Dan Fox, marketing executive at Light Phone, the Brooklyn-based alternative phone company.

This event is a part of #NYTechWeek—a week of events hosted by VCs and startups to bring together the tech ecosystem. Learn more at www.tech-week.com.
