Rachel Coates will discuss:
  • What's up with all the colleges going test-optional? Should my child still be trying to take the SAT or ACT?
  • Are deferrals and gap years leading to fewer places for current seniors applying to college?
  • What if my child's schooling was disrupted by going online? Should they pass/fail their poorer grades?
  • How can we make a college list when travel and campus visiting is limited?
  • All my child's extra-curricular activities have been cancelled or moved online. What should they do?
  • I was worried about paying for college before Covid 19. Now I'm really worried. Any advice?
  • How are colleges managing financially? Which ones will still be around when my child is ready to go?
In addition, Rachel will touch on concerns from the Pre-Pandemic Times like:
  • Are grades equally important all four years?
  • What happens if the transition to high school was rocky?
  • How do colleges compare students from different schools, some with lots of AP's and some with few?
  • Timeframes for Early Action, Early Decision, Regular Decision, and Rolling Decision  - what's the difference?
  • When are financial aid applications due and when will I find out how much it's all going to cost?
  • The additional drama and audition schedule for actors, musicians, artists.
  • The parallel track and additional timeline for sports recruits.
