PSP SDS Tour Of Prospect Park And After-Tour Drinks

Enjoy a guided tour through the history of Prospect Park with fellow PSP SDS member and Prospect Park guru, Kate Papacosma. We'll literally move through history, following the Park's watercourse through meadows and woods while discussing how leaders in Brooklyn, a thriving independent city from 1834–1898, sought to create a park to compete with New York's Central Park. Park board members eventually hired co-designers Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, who created a living, breathing masterpiece that endures today. The backstory is filled with conflict, tragedy, and triumph. You'll never see the Park the same way again.

Meet at the Park's main entrance, at Grand Army Plaza, directly across from the Arch and beneath the massive, eagle-topped columns. Kate, your trusty guide will be carrying a green folder. Afterward, join us for for drinks and snacks at Camperdown Elm, 441 7th Avenue (at 15th Street)) to enjoy more conversation!

This is an adult-only event.
